Now before you even start thinking too hard, let me answer a few ?'s, YES we are the idiots who release a song when Daft Punk's album comes out, and YES, you may have already posted about/or heard enough of the other Say Lou Lou remixes/original, but ours is very special and different....
That being said, we arent sure if its confidence, stupidity, lack of foresight or what have you that led us to this moment of attempting to on some level compete with Daft Punk for attention, but we know ONE THING, that this remix is really great.... I will let you guys listen and get more into it after, and oh this is an official remix as well...
Originally from Chicago, he moved to Singapore to perform at nightclubs 5 nights a week. Vocalist TROY D is now ready to release his new mini album DTENSION! The album features six original songs, two remixes, and sports a diverse sound mixing up dance with pop and R&B flavors. For the occasion, lead single THE NIGHT was remixed by emerging producer/DJ BASSROCK who transformed it into a peak time festival banger, while fully respecting Troy's vocal mastery. The remix merges the best of both world's: a great song accompanied by killer beats heavy on the electro house/big room sound.
The album release date is set for June 1st. And that's when everyone can experience the first single, the first music video, the live performance, a personal interview, and even some behind-the-scenes action! The best part about this virtual experience, is that it's going to be a platform where people can be a part of how the album, and the next single unfolds. So there's more for everyone who stays connected.
Troy D: "My biggest fear in my 9-5 was the level of uncertainty. DTension is an extension of taking a risk, creating a memorable experience, and sharing the journey. I came to Singapore to perform on a nightly club contract, but I wanted to bring back and share something memorable, so I created something I can share and take with me. It's energetic, colorful, and erotic. I reached out to DJShawT in Canada and DJ Freek van Workum, from the Netherlands, who created my productions to the music that I wrote and arranged. I have to give a shoutout to DJ Bassrock who re-mixed two of the songs, they're both bangers you want to get on your ipod. I didn't hold back on the energy on these songs and I didn't hold back vocally. Recording was one of the best parts."
Troy originally recorded lead single, "The Night,” at Sonic Palace in Chicago, but when he moved to Singapore, he re-recorded it. Troy then reached out to a team (DYAU in Singapore) to create a music video for the ”The Night.”
"We started capturing my shots of experiences here, doing photo shoots, and putting together visuals for people to see my experience here. Even though I was performing five nights a week, I still wanted to do more with what we were working on, so DJShawT and Freek van Workum got the music to the studios in Singapore to make magic happen. Singapore's thriving nightlife scene gave me the inspiration to create new music. Once I had enough music, I started reaching out to people in the scene here, and they started helping me get together my live showcase performance."
When you discipline yourself and have an open mind, you can achieve what you set your mind to, you can build lasting relationships and create memorable experiences everywhere you go. Troy lived all over the USA growing up and had his mind set on college and a career in corporate America.
After he graduated, he re-enrolled, double-majored, loaded classes for summer, fall, spring, went back...again for grad school, finally getting that dream job, but by then he burned out of the routine when it was time to finally get started. Deep in his heart, music was calling and Troy started doing more exciting things to leverage his energy, like running marathons and partaking in music competitions every week. Just to be able to escape the corporate life.
Leaving work one day, Troy walked past ESPN zone, ran in, and signed up last-minute for ESPN's Star-Spangled Sing-off, a competition to see which Chicago local was going to sing the National Anthem for 25k Chicago White Sox fans. Ex- player, Ron Kittle and game operations manager, Amy Sheridan, selected Troy as the winner out of a few hundred locals.
He then got the chance to perform at some of the hottest night clubs in L.A, Las Vegas, Atlanta (Miller Lite), a 1-hour performance at the worlds largest food festival, The Taste of Chicago, and some top performing slots in other large music festivals like Chi-Live, Scorcher Fest-Australia, Interfusion Music Summit. Troy was nominated at the 2012 Chicago Music Awards as an Emerging Star with the single, "Star." Surprised by the nominations, he had the chance to perform "Bottom of my Heart," live on Chicago's CAN TV, which recently pulled in a nomination at the 2013 VIMA Music Awards in Asia for "Best Pop Song."
Las Vegas rapper Yowda releases his newest single "Ballin" with Maybach Music Group CEO Rick Ross. The infectious club and street friendly record is sure to take the internet and clubs by storm this summer. Look out for the official "Ballin" video directed by MMG's own Dre Films in the coming weeks!!!
Lucas Reyes & Lemon3 ft. Joanna Rays - Take Your Time
Lucas Reyes & Lemon3 make their KULT Records debut with this great new housey vocal featuring the wonderful performance of Joanna Rays!
Slammin' remixes courtesy of Andrea Gaya and Tony Jaguar!
Already supported by Chuckie and Abel Ramos.
The second remix in the package comes courtesy of Silk artist-of-the-moment Nigel Good, who has been on the warpath of late with a flurry of well supported remixes and singles. Specifically, his latest original "The Balance" has been played on radio by Above & Beyond, Max Graham, and tyDi in recent weeks and reached the Top 5 on Beaport's Progressive House Release Chart (as well as the Top 20 in Overall Releases); earlier this year, his standout remix of Aerosoul's "Time Is By Your Side" was featured on radio by Myon & Shane 54, Solarstone, and many more. Although Nigel's remix could accurately be categorized as a peak-hour stormer, the house-y rhythm lends the track a genre-bending versatility. Early on in the track, a signature electro-tinged bassline is introduced, as well as a radiant chord progression. Another Nigel Good trademark is presented soon thereafter: a gorgeous array of futuristically-processed vocal stabs, derived from the original vocal and other samples. Finally, OST's verse arrives in full splendor, with the many other instrumental elements offering great support behind it. Just as the build gains full momentum, it gives way to a poignant main break, in which the main vocal theme is coupled with an emotive piano score. The drop to follow is a pure dancefloor killer, as the layered bassline furiously cuts through the mix. A funky, Daft Punk-inspired synth adds even more flavor to the ebullient soundscape.
A wealth of positivity surrounds the new project "MAGICAL" ! Mora & Rays aka Fedo Mora (After the rain) and Joanna Rays (Just another day), finally start their first collaboration with a hot dance track with attractive melodies! Main mix for the Dreamers and Club mix / Ades Vapor mix for the Killers...
Phoenix - Trying To Be Cool (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Our goal has always been to create music that maintains the energy of the progressive house sound, has the depth and authentic feeling of indie music but also has the mainsteam appeal of pop music, and there is no better band in the world to drive that goal home than Phoenix. Their sound is so unique yet appealing without compromise, that presented the opportunity to do a remix we thought there no better band to work with. Blending Thomas Mars' voice and the bands infectious instrumentation with our style production just came so easily and vwala we think we came up with a truly fun remix for everyones summer that takes the song a place the phoenix sound was meant for....
So yeah... we are glad to be back in action and of course hope that you will support us with this tune on the site. We know a good Phoenix remix is always enjoyed and we hope that you would agree that we did the band the justice on this song….
Now all business aside, what are you wearing?
Oh us? just some Jordan's and a backstage pass to a Redman Concert... and we are blushing...
